About

One artist.
One studio.
One style, done properly.

I am Sean Lysaght. I tattoo black and grey realism in Liverpool, and I have run my own studio since 2016.

Sean Lysaght
The short version

I specialise in black and grey realism: portraits, statuary, landscapes, and large surreal compositions. Taking colour out of the equation means the contrast has to carry everything, and that is exactly why the style holds up so well as it settles and ages.

In 2016 I opened Creative Element Tattoo and have watched it grow into a professional, highly rated studio. Running my own place means I answer to the work rather than to a diary somebody else fills. I take on a small number of pieces at a time so each one gets the hours it actually needs.

I work closely with every client, from the first message through to the healed photo months later. You deal with me from start to finish. Nobody hands your arm to whoever happens to be free that day.

The studio

Creative Element Tattoo

A private, properly set up studio rather than a walk in shop with a queue at the counter. It is clean, it is calm, and on a long sitting that matters more than people expect.

You are welcome to come and see it before you commit to anything, especially if this is your first tattoo or your first big piece.

New pieces go up as they heal.

The portfolio on this site is the edit. Instagram is where everything else lands, including work in progress and healed photos months later.
